Compassionate Communication Overview:

Compassionate Communication is founded in the non-violent communication movement founded by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, PhD.  This philosophy focuses on identifying individuals needs and feelings without judgement.  Our presenter, Dr. D.A. Graham is a certified trainer in non-violent communication and will be providing the foundation for participants to leave the day with the foundation to start putting these concepts into action.

Biography

D. A. Graham, PH.D., M.Div., MHR

Dr. D. A. Graham is The University of Kansas Ombudsperson.  D. A. the former Vice President, Global Integrity Leader at Nielsen in NYC; University Ombudsperson for Princeton University, San Diego State University and Former Director of Human Resources at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

 D. A. has more than 20 years of experience as a Master Facilitator and Mediator in the resolution of complaints, appeals and internal grievance processes for employee/employer issues. He has worked to resolve issues between parties through various types of mediation and communication processes. He has designed and taught numerous courses and workshops on communication, conflict engagement skills, diversity and accountability at multiple universities, corporate and nonprofit organizations. D. A. is a Certified Trainer, a Lecturer and Conflict Coach.

A former Hospital Corpsman and Navy Chaplain deployed during Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, D. A. developed a number of innovative outreach programs for community relations in many different countries.

He is the father of one daughter Diedre Alexandria Graham and two Miniature Schnauzers Maya and Axel.

Service Group

At the Drive-in workshop we will be collecting items to donate to SOS, a non-profit in support of individuals impacted by interpersonal violence.  "SOS Envisions a community in which every person lives without fear of interpersonal violence. Our mission is to empower and advocate for those affected by sexual assault and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect. The support that you are giving with this drive is amazing, we would not be where we are today without the support of our community!"
