Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Admission and Enrollment Marketing - Maryland Institute College of Art

Reporting to the Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid, the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Admission and Enrollment Marketing will provide strategic leadership, vision, oversight, and coordination of the College’s undergraduate admission and enrollment marketing programs. The AVP is expected to lead the development of recruitment models, strategies and policies necessary to meet the College’s annual undergraduate enrollment and retention goals. The AVP will be responsible for hiring, training and professionally developing a team of ten professionals and managing an operational budget of approximately $1.5 million. The AVP will also be expected to:

  • develop and execute recruitment plans and strategies to meet undergraduate goals while overseeing all functions related to admissions management and staff training;
  • in collaboration with the Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid and the Strategic Communications team, shape and develop a comprehensive enrollment marketing plan to support recruitment efforts; develop content and write copy; contribute to the development and design of communications for new undergraduate student recruitment and enrollment; develop, design and execute marketing and communications campaigns in close collaboration with Strategic Communications;
  • optimize CRM technology to generate targeted, segmented communications across all facets of the undergraduate admission pipeline;
  • collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement innovative and anticipatory recruitment strategies and admission policies to achieve desired enrollment goals;
  • actively engage with the Office of Financial Aid in developing and implementing awarding policies and joint communication strategies to maximize enrollments;
  • collect and analyze data for the  purpose of making data-driven decisions, assessing recruitment and marketing efforts and adapting innovative strategies;
  • maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with all academic and student support offices; and
  • cultivate faculty relationships and involvement in enrollment and marketing initiatives.

A master’s degree or equivalent combination of academic preparation and experience in enrollment management as well as documented experience in a management position leading an enrollment program at a college or university are required.  Additionally, the following skills will be expected:

  • demonstrated track record of success in the field of enrollment marketing and recruitment;
  • proven success in competitive marketing, positioning and messaging;
  • knowledge of national and international trends and developments in recruitment and admissions for the purpose of modeling and strategic planning;
  • proven commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives in a professional community that views diversity and collaboration as organizational strengths;
  • excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; strong collaborative orientation to project design and management; proven track record of managing successful teams;
  • strong quantitative aptitude and experience with predictive modeling and financial aid leveraging;
  • ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; and
  • demonstrated experience with integrated student information systems and innovative technologies for recruitment and admissions.

Director of Admissions - Washburn University, Topeka, KS

Human Resources seeks candidates for the Director of Admissions position in Enrollment Management. The Director of Admissions works strategically to integrate all aspects of Washburn University and Washburn's Institute of Technology (Washburn Tech) undergraduate enrollment process including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective student-centered, strategic recruitment and selection.

Responsibilities
The Director's primary outcomes are long-term strategic enrollment growth of appropriately qualified students (regionally, nationally and internationally); highly effective data analysis to drive decisions supporting marketing, recruitment, and admissions strategy; achievement of enrollment goals and implementation of growth strategies to achieve enrollment targets; leadership, mentorship and coaching of admissions professionals; and the development of productive partnerships with internal departments and external influencers, (parents, counselors, teachers, etc.).

Applications, Admissions, Enrollment, Student Success and Retention

  • Formulates long range strategic application/admission/enrollment policies that will support an integrated end-to-end enrollment management process.
  • Leads the department's electronic data management process and ensures policies and procedures exist to optimize ongoing use.
  • Works closely with administration at Washburn Tech and Enrollment Management, and with the areas of Financial Aid and New Student Orientation to maximize enrollment opportunities.
  • Oversees Admissions operational and scholarship budgets. Partners with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs leadership. Travels as needed, as well as weekend and evening requirements.

Marketing and Recruitment

  • Identifies and incorporates the use of best practice web based technology in recruitment, application, and enrollment for university enrollment at traditional, post traditional, and graduate level.
  • Works with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication, the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, and the Dean of Washburn Tech to develop, plan and evaluate the effectiveness of advertisements, direct mail promotion, screeners, view books, bulletins, brochures and other collateral materials.
  • Develops and implements a data driven, market sensitive, and goal oriented strategic recruitment plan to reach targeted regional, national, and international audiences.

Data Systems and Analysis

  • Works closely with Executive Director, Strategic Analysis and Research Office and admissions staff to develop and implement enrollment models and statistical reports, track and project admissions, develop student profile reports that indicate predictors of enrollment success and fulfillment of enrollment goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership direction and supervision to empower an energetic and dynamic Admission staff on both campuses (Washburn University and Washburn Tech), in the development of the Admissions professional and support staff.
  • Performs additional job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in recruitment and/or marketing. Supervisory experience directing an effective team in sales, marketing, recruitment, or admissions. The ability to develop strategic relationships and teamwork with internal and external constituencies. Skilled in developing, enhancing, and implementing an innovative communication plan to achieve mission goals. Demonstrate cultural awareness, exercise emotional intelligence, the ability to build trust and show integrity, have excellent written and verbal communication skills. leadership, exemplary customer service skills, ability to look at the big picture, and value diversity. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends. Valid, or the ability to obtain, a driver's license with acceptable driving record under University standards. Superior communications, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills and abilities; demonstrated knowledge of targeted marketing, geo-demography, predictive modeling and net tuition revenue; success using integrated technology-based information systems, customer relation management tools and document imaging applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree. Six or more years of progressive leadership in admissions at a higher education institution. Sophisticated understanding of admission CRMs and related software, data, and research. Established record of meeting and exceeding targeted enrollment goals. Ability to understand and speak Spanish.

Associate Registrar – Administration and Undergraduate Programs - MidAmerica Nazarene University

Job Summary:  The Associate Registrar for Administration and Undergraduate Programs performs leadership and administrative duties in the areas of academic records and registration, graduation and commencement, administration of VA education benefits, and other academic administration and support activities. This is a full time 12-month position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the university Registrar in overall office leadership and decision-making.
  • Represent the Registrar’s Office as needed to accomplish office mission.
  • Fulfill list requests and other data requests as needed.
  • Assist with traditional registration and serve on the Registration Team.
  • Participate in traditional undergraduate events such as Freshman Finalization Day and Pioneer Day.
  • Interface with Administrative Assistants and Department Chairs regarding student records.
  • Interface with Administrative Support Offices regarding registration, DCP’s, withdrawals, etc.
  • Perform graduation clearance administration.
  • Post degrees as graduation requirements are met.
  • Lead and direct office staff as they assist with graduation clearance.
  • Input graduation application data.
  • Assist the Registrar with commencement weekend preparation and related activities. Other associated tasks may include: process orders for diplomas for graduates, plan and oversee the annual Graduate Finale, order student regalia and commencement materials, and serve as a main point of contact for Academic Affairs and other campus offices as needed.
  • Serve as the VA school certifying official.
  • Attend local training meetings as needed and one national conference annually as budgeted.
  • Confer with the regional VA certifying official as needed.
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Registrar

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • General clerical and administrative skills such as organizing and maintaining files
  • Computer/software skills; the ability quickly learn web content interface and other university software programs
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality of records
  • Strong customer service skills

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Prior work experience in higher education preferably in a Registrar’s office, academic support or related area is desired.
