News about Your Colleagues
At Saint Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas, Wanda Owen has been promoted from Assistant Registrar to Associate Registrar. John Olson (previously Registrar of the Kansas City Art Institute) has been appointed the Registrar at Saint Mary College. Sr. Mary Margaret Kean has left her position of Assistant Registrar at Benedictine College to begin work in the development offices at the Mount St. Scholastica Convent in Atchison. Everyone at Benedictine will miss her and wishes her well. Julie Conrady married Rob Smith on April 15, 2000. She will also be leaving Noesho County CC as of June 30 to start her teaching career as a 1st grade teacher. At Ottawa University, Tim Albers has left his position as Director of Admissions to take a
position in Enrollment Services at Western State College in Gunneson, CO. Lanette Stineman has been promoted to Director of Admissions, Jim Allen and Ryan Ficken have been promoted to Assistant Director of
Admissions. Lisa Fitch and Bruce Tate have been hired as new Admissions Counselors. Bruce Jost, Tabor College, who began the year as an Admissions Counselor has moved across the hall into financial aid, and to fill his role as admissions counselor, Tabor hired May '00 graduate Lucas King. Lucas was originally from Olathe, Kansas. He is already on board and has taken over Bruce's territory. Lucas is also scheduled to be married June 24. The question is should Tabor give him a day or two off that next week? How do you vote? Fort Hays State University has some changes to report. Heather Smith has left FHSU for life in the big city (KC). She will do some recruiting for a large accounting firm. Tricia Kohl has replaced Heather and will recruit western Kansas. Sonia Esquivel has been hired as a half-time admissions counselor to recruit students of color. She will also take on the role of the HALO (Hispanic American Leadership Organization) sponsor on campus. Pam Groff, who is our Student Information Processing/Scholarship Office coordinator, now holds a permanent three-quarter time position instead of just seasonal. And finally, Joey and Lori Linn are proud to announce the birth of Mallory Ann Linn born April 5. Mallory has two older sisters, Macy 8 and Mikayla 5. Melissa Lanpher will be leaving the Admissions Staff at Pratt Community College. She is moving into a new position internally. Southwestern College officially announces the addition of two new staff people to the office. They will both be covering Oklahoma. Cynthia Evans is a graduate of Stephens College in Missouri and will be traveling Oklahoma City and western Oklahoma. And Jodi Thomas is a graduate of Kansas State University who will be covering Tulsa, northeast Oklahoma and southeast Kansas. Rodney and Candace Worsham had a little boy, Caleb Rhys Worsham, on June 7, 2000 at 7:34 p.m. He weighed 7lbs 10 1/2 oz and was 19 3/4 in long. Mom, dad and son are at home resting (in between feedings) and doing fine. At Wichita State University, there are two new reps joining the traveling staff. Ashley Woody will be handling Western KS and Keena Neal will be the Wichita representative. Michelle Stafford, one of WSU's community college coordinators, was recently
married. Her new last name is Barger. At Newman University, Monica Griego left the admissions office for Atlanta and a new life there. She is engaged to Jeff Woodson and will be married in August. Marla McClure has been promoted from Director of Financial Aid to Director of Financial Aid and Admissions. Tom Green is now the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
