Professional Development enlists help from
KACRAO membership
Keena Neal
Someday, someone will be seated across from Regis Philbin
on the hit ABC show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire,"
and reply to a million dollar question with the words: The committee
is charged with providing professional development activities
for KACRAO and its support personnel.
Regis' initial question is obvious: Do you know what the Professional
Development Committee of KACRAO does? But Tracey Payne, committee
chair, has some questions of her own: "Do you want to participate
on this committee?"
Like all committees, Professional Development is in need of
able bodies with fresh ideas.
"We need your enthusiasm and ideas of how we can provide
a greater array of professional development to our organization,"
writes Payne in an email. And that's her final answer!
Payne invites other members of KACRAO to join the fun as professional
development gears up to plan KACRAO's annual Summer Drive-In
Workshop. It is a one-day event hosted for admission and registrar's
office staff across the state. The workshops focus is to enhance
and promote professional standards, ethics and practice for KACRAO.
The committee's first meeting will be held at Emporia State University
in January. Please contact Payne via email at Traceypay@aol.com
for information on how to get involved.
