What
have been your favorite memories of being a member of KACRAO?
My very
first KACRAO meeting in Pittsburg, KS (1989) riding the train to see Big
Brutus and talking to Deanne Duerksen about 'everything'.
Talking
to Rodney Frey about both of us seeing the Luanga River in Zambia, Africa,
Having
Dick Elkins talk about my mentor, Charlie Selden who worked at Kansas
Wesleyan, Wichita State and UNC.
Sharing
Ad Astra and other assorted stories with Diane Barnes.
How
has KACRAO assisted you in your professional development?
Having
a broad network of KACRAO friends and colleagues across the state makes my
job much easier and rewarding.
What
is your advice to your fellow KACRAO members and colleagues new to the
profession?
You
only get out of something as much as you put into it. Investing your time
and energy into KACRAO now
and in the future is like investing money in the bank. A continuous
investment in involvement pays big dividends to
you for your entire career. The more you invest the greater the dividends! |
